WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - During the 2025 Legislative Session, Louisiana Lawmakers allocated $150 million for economic development statewide. The program will distribute the funds through grants designed for industrial projects.
Rob Cleveland of Grow NELA says there are already candidates for the grants.
“So there may be, there are a number of sites all throughout the region. We have probably 100 good sites in the region,” Cleveland said. “So, we’re working to try and filter those and understand what the best sites are, how we can invest in those sites.”
Cities like West Monroe say they are interested and sites ready for construction, but Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell says there’s nothing to announce just yet.
