DERRY - The Oyster River High School volleyball team fell short in its quest at a Division II state championship three-peat after not making last year's state title game.
One year later, the Bobcats are back in a familiar place.
Top-seeded Oyster River (19-0) beat No. 4 Milford, 3-1 on Thursday, Nov. 6 in a Division II semifinal at Pinkerton Academy, and will play in its third championship game in the past for years.
Individual game scores were 25-19, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16.
"It's a great feeling," Oyster River senior Leah Lynskey said. "Last year, we lost in the semis and we were just trying to make sure we never felt like that again. We were trying to control everything we could on our side of the court, so (to win) was amazing knowing that all of our hard work paid off."
