Domestic equity markets tumbled sharply in early trade on Friday , mirroring a global sell-off as investors turned risk-averse amid weak cues from Wall Street and a slide across major Asian indices.

The benchmark BSE Sensex fell over 550 points to 82,751.05 around 10:08 am, while the NSE Nifty50 slipped 161.55 points to 25,348.15.
