For Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients in North Carolina, relief could come in a matter of days, but for those in South Carolina, there's no deadline for when that could come.

A federal judge has ordered the Trump Administration to pay the full SNAP benefits for november. Nearly 42 million Americans receive food stamps.

In response to another court order, the Trump administration announced earlier this week that it would partially fund the program. The United States Department of Agriculture must now tap into a contingency fund to make the full payments to states, which the judge said must be done by Friday.

The judge noted that without the funding, 16 million children are at risk of going hungry and added, "This should never happen in America."
