COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The amount you pay for car insurance in Colorado has increased by over 40% from 2022 to 2024, according to the governor’s office. Thursday, Governor Polis shared a plan to try to reduce Coloradans’ bills.
The ‘Roadmap to Reduce Auto Insurance Premiums’ includes five main goals:
- To improve road safety by increasing sobriety checkpoints and adding more cameras along the busiest roads in the state to catch drunk drivers and speeders.
- Cracking down on car theft through legislation action and educating drivers.
- Lowering the number of uninsured drivers by tracking who is driving without insurance.
- Reducing repair costs by increasing the number of skilled workers, and reporting repair shops that may be abusing auto insurance.
