Ilove my wife, who I’ve been married to for three years, dearly and am completely in awe of her. She’s funny, kind and genuinely brilliant in all but one respect: her cooking.
She’s a self-confessed foodie and when we first met, she would go to great efforts to cook dinners for the two of us. The results were often pretty dire. I remember the first time looking at her, expecting us to laugh about it, but she seemed to think it was delicious. I’ve never wanted to offend her, so I kept up with the pretence.
She considers herself such a creative cook that she never follows a recipe. Day-to-day I’ve taken over the cooking, or we’ll have something quick where you can’t really go wrong, but watching her putting in lots of effort to create a meal that isn’t enjoyed seems such a shame. I also fi
