Army veteran Brian Kropf, a former paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, is running the 2026 Boston Marathon as part of Team USO to raise $10,000 for the organization that supported him during his six years of service. The USO provided vital connections for deployed troops through care packages, lounges, and morale programs—support that Kropf says is especially crucial during the current government shutdown. He’s dedicating his run to his late grandfather, a Korean War veteran, and a brother in arms killed in action. Locals can contribute to his cause this Veterans Day at At Ease Brewing and Sac Yard Community Taphouse in Sacramento.
