Despite not having home-rink advantage, some of the best Canadian teams are doing just fine at the Grand Slam of Curling’s first American event.
Rachel Homan, Matt Dunstone and Brad Jacobs are three of the 3-0 teams at KIOTI GSOC Tahoe in Nevada.
Homan capped Thursday’s play with an 8-3 win over Canada’s Team Kaitlin Lawes.
The Ottawa-born skip and Switzerland’s Silvana Tirinzoni are the lone women’s teams with perfect records.
The two-time reigning world champion has won the previous two Slam events this season.
On the men’s side, Dunstone beat Switzerland’s Marco Hoesli 7-4, while Jacobs beat Scotland’s Ross Whyte 6-3 on Thursday.
Bruce Mouat of Scotland and Yannick Schwaller of Switzerland also are 3-0.
