LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A woman serving time in prison for stealing from apartment complexes is facing similar allegations.

Tenants at the David J. Hoggard Family Community said they received eviction notices despite making rental payments to former employee Meshaire Maheia, also known as Sherry, before she began serving her sentence in August.

Maheia, 48, is serving a 12 to 30-month sentence at Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections. A department spokesperson said she was admitted on Aug. 22.
