Former Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima spent more than two hours at Stellar Coffee Co. in Roswell Wednesday evening outlining his vision for New Mexico and fielding questions from residents. Miyagishima spoke on topics ranging from education and policing to rural development, health care and immigration, weaving personal anecdotes into policy proposals.

Miyagishima emphasized his executive experience, contrasting it with rivals in the 2026 governor’s race. “Neither one has been a chief executive like I have,” Miyagishima said, pointing to his four terms as mayor and his work with national leaders through the United States Conference of Mayors.
