After more than 200 years of long-range weather forecasting, the Farmers’ Almanac on Thursday announced it will no longer be published.
“The season we hoped would never come is here,” the announcement said.
The Farmers’ Almanac has released a publication forecasting 16-month weather predictions since 1818. The 2026 edition will be the last.
“Many of you grew up hearing your parents or grandparents quote from the Almanac, always having a copy nearby. Maybe you have planted by our Moon phases, consulted the Almanac for the ‘Best Days’ to potty train, wean, or go fishing. We’re grateful to have been part of your life and trust that you’ll help keep the spirit of the Almanac alive,” a statement from editor Sandi Duncan and editor emeritus Peter Geiger said.
