Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday described India’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’ as a “mantra, energy, dream and resolve,” while leading the nation in celebrating 150 years of its creation at a grand ceremony held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said Vande Mataram embodies devotion to the motherland and continues to inspire generations with its spirit of unity, pride and patriotism.
“Vande Mataram — these words are a mantra, an energy, a dream, a resolve. They are devotion and worship to Maa Bharti. They take us into history, fill our present with confidence, and give us the courage to achieve every goal we set as a nation,” the Prime Minister said.
