Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister on Friday said that people who refuse to install electric meters will not be able to benefit from the government’s decision to provide 200 units of free electricity to households, adding that politics over meters is misleading the public.

Speaking to reports at Budgam ahead of the bypolls, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to easing the burden on the common people. “We have promised to provide 200 units of free electricity to every household. But without installing a meter, we cannot fulfill this promise,” he said.
