World Cup-winning cricketers Amanjot Kaur and Harleen Deol received a hero’s welcome as they returned home to Punjab on Friday. The atmosphere at the airport was electric, with families, fans, and leaders of the state’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) greeting them with sweets, flowers, and the vibrant beats of the dhol.

The celebrations came just days after the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s team created history by clinching its first-ever 50-over World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
