Ahmedabad: With the growing number of dog bite incidents in the city, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to set up two hostels for pet dogs. The announcement comes just a day after two children were bitten by a German Shepherd at Sharanam Elegance , a residential complex in the New Maninagar area of the city. The incident occurred when a woman resident was walking her pet, and the dog suddenly broke free from her grip and attacked the children.

Announcing the decision, Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani said, “With dog bite incidents increasing in the municipal limits, the civic body will set up two hostels for pet dogs—similar to those already functioning for stray cattle in Bakro
