The Indian Army has detained a Bangladeshi national who was employed as a civilian labourer at the Bengdubi Military Station near Siliguri in North Bengal.
The individual was found in possession of an Aadhaar card, PAN card, and voter ID, all suspected to be forged.
According to an official statement on Friday, the arrest took place during a re-verification drive aimed at strengthening security arrangements for civilian personnel working at the military base.
During the document inspection, authorities became suspicious of one labourer, and a subsequent search revealed a Bangladeshi national identity card in his possession.
The army said the man was immediately taken into custody and later handed over to local police for further investigation.
