Georgia football coach Kirby Smart insisted he was busy preparing for Mississippi State on the night the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season were released this week.
His team is ranked No. 5 and heads to Starkville for a Saturday Nov. 8 game well-positioned as a 7-1 team but with tests still to come.
“I literally have not seen a thing,” Smart said of the CFP rankings.
Smart said he finished up work in his office after 11 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 4 and arrived early on Wednesday.
“I haven’t even peeked at any of that,” he said. “We’ve got our hands full. I do know that it will take care of itself if you handle your business and if you don’t you’ll be worried about a lot of those things. That’s just the state of college football where it is. We’re trying to control what
