The Battle Creek Regional History Museum is hosting several events this holiday season. The museum will present a special program, "Lincoln & Thanksgiving," at 6 p.m. Nov. 8. Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by re-enactor Kevin Wood, will share the story of how the Thanksgiving holiday was established during his presidency, according to a community announcement.

The program will explore Lincoln's Thanksgiving proclamation in the context of the Civil War and the nation's history. It will also highlight the efforts of Sarah Josepha Hale, who advocated for the holiday. Tickets are $10, and seating is limited. Proceeds will benefit the museum.
