DENVER (KDVR) — A 19-year-old is facing first-degree murder charges in connection with a deadly attempted carjacking last week in Westminster, while a 24-year-old suspect is facing second-degree murder charges in the matter.
The Westminster Police Department announced on Oct. 28 that it was investigating a homicide that occurred on Oct. 27 in the 8400 block of Decatur Street. Officers arrived at the scene to find an unresponsive woman in a vehicle with gunshot wounds.
She was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The woman has since been identified by the Office of the Coroner for Adams and Broomfield Counties as Maria Ines De Luna Ojeda, 34, but her cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
