Anuradha shared that she was buying a sari at a prominent store in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore when she was asked for her mobile number at the billing counter. She refused to provide it and asked why it was mandatory. The staff told her that they could only process the bill if she provided her phone number. She responded, “Fine. I will not buy."
