Glen Powell made a startling realisation after shooting his half-naked abseiling scene in The Running Man. In the latest adaptation of Stephen King's dystopian thriller, the Top Gun: Maverick actor stars as Ben Richards, a man who has to fight for his survival in the televised game show, The Running Man. In one scene, Ben evades deadly hunters by jumping out of a hotel window and then abseiling down the side of a building wearing only a towel around his waist. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Powell revealed that an unfortunate crew member had a full view of what was under his towel "skirt" every time he ran through the stunt. "I had to abseil down eight storeys of a building in freezing conditions, half-naked and wearing a harness, which cinched me - believe me nothing looked good!" he quipped, before he shared, "The crazy thing I found out after was that there was a guy whose only job was to stop me kicking a window - which means he was looking up my skirt all night - I wondered what he was seeing take after take!" The Anyone But You star filmed the scene in below-freezing temperatures in Bulgaria in February, and recently told Variety that he kept track of the cold weather in the days leading up to it. Of the shoot itself, he joked, "It's always temporary pain for eternal cinematic glory." Powell noted that he had assured director Edgar Wright that he was willing to do whatever it takes to make the action as good as possible. "I said, 'There's not going to be an actor who works as hard for you as I will. I'll put my body on the line to make sure you get the movie you want to get,'" he recalled. The Running Man opens in cinemas on 14 November. The Graham Norton Show airs in the U.K. on Friday nights.
