NEBRASKA (KCAU) — Former State Senator Julie Slama announced that she's suspending her 2026 campaign for Nebraska State Treasurer.

Slama said in a statement on November 5 that the campaign ended after former State Treasurer Tom Briese announced his resignation on November 3. Joey Spellerberg was appointed in his place.

The former GOP legislator said she's endorsing Spellerberg in his 2026 election campaign for the State Treasurer seat.
