Plans by the Stirling Council SNP group to take over the administration have been put on hold until Monday. ‌

But Labour have accused the would-be leaders of rushing the meeting and failing to deliver. ‌

At a special full council meeting on Thursday, SNP group leader and councillor for Stirling North, Susan McGill, did not present the party’s full requisition motion, which proposes to oust the current minority Labour leadership. ‌

Ms McGill instead asked for a further meeting next week where she is confident that the matter would be resolved.

Alasdair MacPherson, independent, and Green councillor Alasdair Tollemache, both voted for the second meeting, helping SNP councillors to overrule their Labour and Conservative colleagues.
