New Delhi: Donald Trump said in Washington on Thursday that he could be visiting India next year, but New Delhi has no information about it yet.
“As far as the comments of President Trump regarding his visit to India is concerned, I do not have anything on this to share. I will let you know when I have something to share with you,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Friday. ADVERTISEMENT
During an interaction with reporters at the White House’s Oval Office, the US President emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “wants” him to visit India.
“He (PM Modi) is a friend of mine, and we speak… He wants me to go there. We’ll figure that out. I’ll go. I will have a great trip there with Prime Minister Modi, he’s a great man. And I’ll be going,” Trump said.
