The Washington Commanders may have caught a major break regarding the face of their franchise.
Star second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels, who suffered a gruesome left elbow injury in Sunday’s blowout loss to Seattle, will not immediately be placed on the injured reserve, and the team will re-evaluate the injury during their Week 12 bye, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Friday.
Rapoport added that Daniels received positive medical opinions and MRIs, showing his dislocated left elbow isn’t as serious as initially anticipated. The 24-year-old did not suffer any ligament damage and will not need surgery.
Daniels is still out indefinitely, but avoiding an IR stint leaves room for the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year to return to action this season.
