Lincoln Heights— A 27-year-old pursuit suspect who fell into a 30-foot-deep construction shaft was rescued Thursday evening by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
After the suspect was rescued, he was taken to a hospital in critical condition, said LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
Hollenbeck Division officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were in pursuit of the suspect, who police said was wanted for driving a stolen vehicle around 9 p.m., according to NBC 4 . Attempting to evade the officers, the suspect got out of his vehicle and ran into a construction site, where he fell into the shaft, according to ABC7 .
