Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston is blasting an order that he says prohibits workers in some courts from wearing poppies while on the clock.
He said the judges’ order earlier this week “was issued under the guise that the poppy is somehow a ‘political statement.’”
“This is disgusting,” he declared Thursday in a post on X .
“The poppy is not a political statement. It is a symbol of remembrance and respect for the fallen and those who served and continue to serve our country.”
Houston noted that poppies have been worn across the country since 1921 and said the judges who issued the order are “wrong” for doing so.
