PROSPECT, CT (WFSB) - A suspicious vehicle parked near a middle school’s tennis courts prompted a response from police in Prospect.

Long River Middle School’s principal said state police responded to the property on Columbia Avenue and that the driver left the area in the vehicle.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Prospect police and our school security team conducted a full sweep of the building and grounds to ensure everything was safe and secure,” said Principal Derek Muharem, Long River Middle School, in a letter to the school community. “Students were welcomed into the building at 7:50 a.m., and our school day is proceeding on a regular schedule.”
