The Sudbury Five signed a player this week with high-level experience on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean in Russian-born, American-raised power forward Alex Kotov.
A 6-foot-10 Moscow native who played NCAA Division I basketball at Illinois State and Campbell University, Kotov spent the 2025-25 season, his first as a professional, with Uralmash Yekaterinburg in the Russia’s top-tier VTB United League and also with KK TFT Skopje in the Macedonian First League.
He’ll arrive in the Basketball Super League with a long list of accomplishments dating back to youth ball, including a 2018 GEICO National High School Championship, 2019 NJCAA SoCon Championship and first-team 2019 NJCAA SoCon Conference nod, as well as a 2025 silver medal with TFT Skopje.
