President Donald Trump touted a price reduction in Walmart’s annual Thanksgiving meal package as proof of a strengthening economy. But he left out some key context, as social media sleuths quickly pointed out.

“Walmart just announced that Prices for a Thanksgiving Dinner is now down 25% since under Sleepy/Crooked Joe Biden, in 2024,” Trump wrote Wednesday . “AFFORDABILITY is a Republican Stronghold. Hopefully, Republicans will use this as irrefutable fact!”

Walmart says its 2025 Thanksgiving meal can serve 10 people for $40, an average of $4 per person. Last year, the retail giant offered a Thanksgiving kit that would serve eight people for $56, a per-person average of $7.
