WINDSOR, Conn. ( WFSB /Gray News) - Two men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly trying to steal a road sign from a Connecticut interstate.
The suspects were identified by Connecticut State Police as 42-year-old Andrew Scott Lampkin and 46-year-old Jonathan Riopelle, of Vernon.
A photo provided by state police appears to show the road sign strapped to a white pickup truck.
According to officials, the attempted theft happened at around 8:30 a.m. along Interstate 91 northbound in the Windsor area.
Both men were arrested and charged with larceny, reckless use of highway by a pedestrian and improper parking on a highway.
Lampkin and Riopelle were each released on a $500 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 21.
