General manager Ross Atkins said the team has picked up the option on Schneider’s contract for 2026, which will be his fifth full season with the team. Beyond that, the two parties are working on a long-term arrangement.

“We have picked up the option and we are talking about the potential of that being longer,” Atkins said on Thursday when he met with the media at his season-ending press
