The varsity cross-country career of Solon freshman Cailey Zelwin is off and running after finishing a strong debut season with a pair of her best times.
Zelwin, a congregant of B’nai Jeshurun Congregation in Pepper Pike, ran a personal best time of 20:59.20 seconds to place 22nd at the Akron Suburban, the last regular-season meet of the year, on Oct. 11 at Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton before running a time of 21:05.13, her second-best mark of the season, to place 56th at the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I regional cross-country meet on Oct. 25 at Boardman High School.
