A White Lake Township man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a teen last summer during the robbery of a home's garage, officials said.
Dayton Knapton was arraigned Friday in 52-2 District Court in Clarkston, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office said.
The 24-year-old is charged with manslaughter, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and two counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, officials said.
A judge set Knapton's bond at $200,000 and scheduled his next court hearing for Nov. 21. The judge also ordered that if Knapton posts bond, he must not have any contact with witnesses, must not possess any firearms, and must not leave the state without the judge's permission, according to court records.
If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison for man
