LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Derby 150 winner Mystik Dan didn't get a chance to race a final time when he was scratched by California state vets before the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile last week at Del Mar. But he will appear at the track where his legacy was cemented one more time.
Churchill Downs announced Friday that Mystik Dan will join the post parade for Race 4 on Saturday (scheduled for 2:28 p.m.) and be showcased in the paddock during that race.
Mystik Dan will retire to Airdrie Stud in Midway, Kentucky.
The Goldencents colt retires with a record of 5-3-1 in 16 career starts, all for trainer Ken McPeek, including his stirring run in historic Kentucky Derby 150.
He won the Grade 3 Blame Stakes at Churchill Downs in May of this year, becoming the first Derby winner to come back
