Flags have been lowered to half-staff at state government buildings in California after the passing of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Governor Gavin Newsom gave the direction on Nov. 4, and flags will fly at half-staff through the day of internment.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney died on Nov. 3 at the age of 84.
California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber issued the following statement upon his passing:
“I appreciate former Vice President Dick Cheney’s decades of public service and the courage he showed by putting country before personal politics to identify and fight against threats to democracy.
