A plan by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to assassinate Israel’s ambassador to Mexico was stopped before it could be carried out, a US official told Reuters on Friday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the plot against Ambassador Einat Kranz Neiger began late last year and continued through the first half of 2025.
