As the sun rose over Pittsburgh International Airport on Friday morning, travelers worried that their travel plans could be affected by the nationwide flight cuts brought on by the ongoing government shutdown.
The reductions went into effect at 6 a.m. Friday morning at 40 airports across the country. While PIT was left off of the list, uncertainty about how — or if — travel to and from the airport would be impacted was palpable.
Mike Busse, 61, of East Palestine, Ohio, has been flying in and out of the Pittsburgh International Airport his whole life and wondered what the long-term effects of the shutdown and flight reductions could be.
“If they don’t get their act together, there could be a problem,” he said.
