LOGAN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two adults have been taken into custody following an investigation into suspected child abuse involving an 11-month-old child, according to the West Virginia State Police.

Troopers identified the individuals as Brandon Jones, 31, and Raven Damron, 30. Investigators say the incident occurred while the child was in their care during an unsupervised visit.

Police allege that Jones caused a serious injury to the child’s leg, which was later determined to be broken. Damron is accused of failing to obtain medical treatment after the injury occurred.

Authorities say Child Protective Services became involved after the child was returned from the visit. The child was then taken by others for medical care and placed in temporary custody.
