PARK RIDGE, Ill. — Students and teachers at a suburban school district were instructed to remain inside throughout the day on Friday after reports of ICE agents in the area.
Park Ridge-Nile School District 64 Superintendent Dr. Ben Collins said in a statement on Friday that he was aware of reports regarding ICE agents in Park Ridge neighborhoods near some of the district's schools.
According to Collins, as a precaution, the district's students and teachers are being kept inside their respective school buildings during recess, PE and lunch.
"Law enforcement is not allowed to enter a school without a warrant or legal order. We will continue to monitor this situation throughout the day," Collins said.
