Canada’s hockey teams will sport a new take on the traditional red-and-white jersey design at next year’s Winter Olympics.
The jerseys will feature the classic maple leaf designed to look like “an unbreakable diamond,” Hockey Canada said, unveiling the styles on Thursday.
The design, created by Nike, is meant to represent Canadian hockey legends’ ability to “withstand incredible pressure” and the “commitment to excellence that all Canadians expect,” Hockey Canada said.
The red jerseys will feature a black maple leaf with black stripes on the arms and across the bottom, with white numbers on the back.
The white jerseys will have a red maple leaf, red stripes in different colours and red numbers on the back.
