A man living in an asylum hotel has denied sexually assaulting a woman.

Tadi Alemeyeha, 23, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in August.

He appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Friday (November 7) to deny the single charge.

Mr Alemeyeha, who had lived at the Britannia Country House Hotel in Didsbury, south Manchester, is understood to be seeking asylum in the UK.

He is set to go on trial in February. A further pre-trial hearing was scheduled for December.

He appeared in court via video link for today’s plea hearing.

Judge Tom Gilbart told the defendant: “You have pleaded not guilty in relation to this matter, so there is going to be a trial.

"That trial is going to take place on February 2 next year.
