FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — Although it’s still warm in the Valley, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Arizona’s High Country.

And with that in mind, anyone wishing to cut their own Christmas tree in the Coconino National Forest this year can reserve a permit online beginning Nov. 14. Permit holders can cut their trees starting at 8 a.m. on Nov. 14 until Dec. 31.

The national forest will have 2,200 permits available to buy this year. All permits will be sold online through recreation.gov .

Where to Cut Your Tree

Do not cut on private land, in wilderness areas, designated campgrounds, or existing tree plantations.

Do not cut in active timber sales or areas that have been planted with new trees.
