SHARON The Mercer County Food Bank (MCFB) has announced the receipt of a grant from the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.

The $20,000 grant will allow the food bank to provide 40,000 meals to families across the country. MCFB Executive Director Rebecca Page tells 21 News every dollar provides two meals to those in need.

Page is quoted in a press release thanking the Community Coundation for the grant.

"Their willingness to step up without hesitation during these uncertain times ensures that our neighbors will continue to have food on the table when they need it most," Page said.

As the community faces several challenges including the ongoing government shutdown, a state budget impasse and the loss of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fun
