Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) warned that the U.S. “may be headed for recession” in her latest break with the GOP and President Trump, who has insisted prices have gone down and dismissed economic concerns.
“We’re seeing real softening in the economy, as we may be headed for a recession here, as we go into the holidays,” Greene told Fox's LiveNow host Josh Breslow on Friday, adding there had been “enough political drama.”
“I’m calling for both sides, Democrats and Republicans, to do their job and go ahead and fund the CR [continuing resolution] so we can get back to work," Greene said.
The continuing resolution is a piece of legislation that would temporarily fund the government while members of both parties negotiate over a full-year funding bill.
