RIDGE SPRING, S.C (WRDW/WAGT) — A health clinic on Friday helped provide access to women farm workers in rural Aiken County.
Augusta University’s Costa Layman Women’s Health Clinic at the Ridge Spring Family Practice allowed students to learn how to provide pap and breast exams, flu vaccines and STI checks to women while at the clinic.
Outbreak-hit S.C. reports 1st new measles case in a week
The South Carolina Department of Public Health is reporting one new case of measles in the state since last Friday.
“We do outreach because our rural communities sometimes have to travel a distance to receive healthcare and we want our students to be able to understand that health care is very important in rural areas because sometimes people will neglect their health care if we don’t go to them,”
