TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a Taylorsville shooting that injured another teen and caused secure protocols to be put in place at several schools on Friday.
The shooting near the McDonald's on 5400 South and Redwood Road occurred during a fight involving up to 20 teenagers. During the altercation, gunshots were heard and a 14-year-old boy was struck in the leg.
A search for the shooting suspect took place immediately after the incident, with the unidentified teen taken into custody on Saturday and booked into the Salt Lake County Detention Center.
The following schools were under secure protocols for about an hour until they were lifted:

Hartvigsen Elementary School
Plymouth Elementary School
Taylorsville High
