A White House official told The Associated Press that the 63-year-old was using his post-career time to find “faith in Christianity” and remain sober for a decade. The official said Strawberry also became active in ministry and started a recovery center that remains operational today.

According to a White House statement, Strawberry pleaded guilty to tax evasion and “served time and paid back taxes.”
