A Wonder Lake man died after he was hit by a vehicle Thursday, the third death this week in the area involving a pedestrian.

Jerry Williams, 65, died at a Lake County hospital after he was hit by an SUV at around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Williams was hit along Barnard Mill Road, west of Summit Drive, in unincorporated Wonder Lake.

The SUV was headed east when it struck Williams, who was thrown into a ditch on the south side of the road. He was brought to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry, and then transferred to Advocate Condell in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead.

The SUV driver, a 34-year-old Genoa City, Wisconsin, woman, and her passengers, who included a man and four children, were not hurt. The driver is cooperating with the investigation, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Of
