SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Springfield Mayor Jeff Schrag will kick off the holiday season with the annual lighting of the Mayor’s Tree in Park Central Square in Springfield.

The event begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 22. Beginning at 7 p.m., you can watch the festivities live on Me-TV (channel 33-3). KY3’s Jackie Garrity and Chad Plein host the festivities.

Kids will find Santa and Mrs. Claus in their Christmas Tree House at the foot of Springfield’s 48-foot tree in the center of Park Central Square. Also, see performances from the Springfield Ballet and Springfield Little Theatre. You can also enjoy free carriage rides and free ice skating at Jordan Valley Park.
